Mary Graham Children’s Shelter (MGCS) is licensed as a 10-day Temporary Shelter Care Facility (TSCF) and is governed by California Department of Social Services (CDSS) and Community Care Licensing (CCL). MGCS operates in adherence to Title 22 and Temporary Shelter Care Facility regulations and works to provide a safe and nurturing environment for its residents while protecting the personal rights of all who reside in our care. Our 50 bed facility serves children who have been removed from their home due to no fault of their own. The age range that is served is from ages 0 to 18 years old. MGCS staff work in a trauma informed manner to meet the short term needs of its residents while a more permanent placement is identified. On an annual basis Mary Graham provides care and support services to about 1000 children. The Shelter provides a variety of support services through a variety of collaborative partners, these services are aimed to help each child have their individual needs addressed. These support services can include:

  1. Medical /Dental
  2. Educational support
  3. Behavioral Health Support
  4. Transitional support for children going to permanent placement or turning 18 and becoming adults.

Can a parent just drop their child off at the Shelter?

No. Our children are only admitted by Law Enforcement or Child Protection Services.

We do accept donations of new items only. We also accept monetary donations. If you are interested in donating please call our main number at (209) 468-6966 and ask to speak with our Administrative Assistant.
