Foster Care
Foster Care services focus on providing temporary
homes for children who cannot remain with their
biological families. This program ensures children
receive the care, love, and support from dedicated
foster families, creating a stable and nurturing
environment during transitional periods.
2
Relative/Non-Relative Extended Family Member Assessment
This component assesses relatives or
non-relative extended family members
(NREFM) who are potential caregivers,
ensuring they meet the necessary criteria
to provide a safe and supportive home. The
assessment process is crucial for placing
children with family members who can
offer continuity of care and familial connections.
3
Adoption Assistance Program
The Adoption Assistance Program supports the
permanent adoption of children who cannot return to
their biological families. It provides resources and
support to adoptive families, ensuring they are
prepared for the lifelong commitment of adoption. This
program facilitates stable and loving homes for
children, offering them a chance for a permanent
family life.

Programs
Foster Care
Our Foster Care Program is intended to provide temporary care for children who are unable to reside with their biological parents.
Under the supervision of the Resource Family Approval Unit of Childrens Services, we provide education and training to individuals or
families in the community who are interested in becoming foster parents. This requires some preparation and training, which begins with
a foster care orientation meeting. Please feel free to call us at 209-465-KIDS (5437), for more information
on how you can become involved.
Adoption
The Adoptions Program is designed to match families with a waiting child or children who need a permanent home. This process involves education,
training and a Family Evaluation, which assists the adoption staff in helping to find the best possible match for your home. For more information
on how you can adopt a waiting child, please call 209-465-KIDS (5437).
