  STOCKTON, Calif. –San Joaquin County was designated by the State as the recipient of nearly 21,000 drought relief food boxes. Distribution of the food boxes began in June and has steadily increased from 2,092 in June to 4,606 in September. These boxes are intended to provide additional food to families in the community who have been hardest hit by the continued drought conditions. The designation as one of the 24 most drought-impacted counties in the State made San Joaquin County eligible to receive the drought relief food boxes for distribution to the community.
