Aging and Community Services

The Department of Aging and Community Services supports older adults, adults with disabilities, family caregivers, and residents in long-term care facilities. The Department’s services support older and disabled individuals to live as independently as possible in the community; promote healthy aging and community involvement; and assist family members in their vital care giving role.

Funding for services related to older adults 60+ years is primarily from the Federal Older Americans Act  ( Area Plan )

Information and Assistance is offered at no cost. Contributions are accepted and appreciated. There is no obligation to contribute. Contributions are confidential and will be used to expand services.

The Area Agency on Aging is supported by the Administration for Community Living (ACL), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). A total of $2,818,049, or 37 percent, of the programs will be financed by Federal funds, and $4,810,091 or 63 percent, will be funded by other resources.
